Successfully complete a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Health, Assistance and Nursing.
Pass the OIIAQ exam.
You have 3 attempts to pass the OIIAQ exam in Quebec.
You need Quebec Secondary V French to obtain your license to practice. International students, or students who graduated in Quebec before 1986, will have to pass a Quebec government French language exam to obtain your license.
The OIIAQ rules go as follow :
Have completed at least three years of full-time secondary or post-secondary education taught in French;
OR
Have passed the fourth or fifth year of secondary school French mother tongue exam;
OR
Have obtained a secondary school diploma in Quebec after the 1985-1986 school year.
Please note that holders of a secondary school equivalence certificate (AENS) do not meet the requirements of the Charter of the French Language , unless they have completed at least three years of full-time secondary or post-secondary education taught in French, as mentioned above.
Therefore, candidates must meet the criteria mentioned above in the Charter to obtain their permit from the Order of Nurses and Auxiliary Nurses of Quebec (OIIAQ).
